Return/Exchange Policy

We stand behind our goods and services and we of course want our customers to be satisfied with their items. Before every package leaves our facility, it is carefully checked by our fulfillment team. If you receive an item that has any damage, please notify our Customer Service team immediately, so that we can rectify the situation as quickly as possible.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused, in its original condition and original packaging that it was received. Refunds or exchanges will not be granted unless ALL of the following conditions are met:

  • No broken pieces (unless received this way. Please provide picture of damaged goods)
  • In original packaging

We handle returns on a case-by-case basis with the ultimate objective of making our customers happy.

DOMESTIC

Returns or exchanges must be postmarked within 7 calendar days from the date of delivery.  

INTERNATIONAL

Returns or exchanges must be postmarked within 7 calendar days from the date of delivery.

OPENING PACKAGES

Please open your packages with care. Use extreme caution if you are cutting your package open with scissors. We will not accept the return of an item that was damaged when opening the package.

REFUNDS (IF APPLICABLE)

Once your returned item is received and inspected, you will be notified electronically of the status of your return request.

All refunds will be credited to your original form of payment or a DBU Gift Card. When returning a gift, you'll receive your refund only on a DBU Gift Card. If we choose to provide a refund:

  • Items Returned by Mail: If you ordered by credit card, we'll credit your account within 14 business days. This will show on your next statement, depending on the issuing bank and/or billing cycle. If you have requested an exchange, your account will be charged for the new item and credited for the return. If you paid with a Gift Card we'll mail you a DBU Gift Card. If a credit card was used in combination with a Gift Card, the entire merchandise amount will be refunded to your credit card.
  • Shipping Charges: Unfortunately, we cannot refund shipping charges.

PROOF OF PURCHASE

Returns must be accompanied by a receipt or other proof of purchase.

SALE ITEMS

Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items or promotional items (when a discount code is applied) cannot be refunded.

EXCHANGES

We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you request an exchange for the same item, please contact our Customer Care via email at: customerservice@designbyuessentialsinc.com.

GIFTS

If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you will receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and (s)he will find out about your return.

HOW TO RETURN AN ITEM

If your item(s) meet all of the necessary conditions for returns and exchanges, please fold and pack your item(s) nicely and mail to:

Unfortunately, we cannot refund shipping charges. Customers are responsible for paying for items to be returned.

Customers should always consider using a trackable shipping service and purchasing shipping insurance for orders over $50.

DBU is not responsible for returned or exchanged items that are lost in transit. We will not replace items that don’t make it back to us.

Receipt of returned merchandise cannot be guaranteed.
